This original oil painting by Eric Boston on a reclaimed oak wine barrel stave titled “Idaho Red”, and measures 3”x37” and features an old, rusty, classic truck parked under sunlit trees. I love cars of nearly every kind, and I have a special place in my heart for vintage vehicles. We were out in Eastern Idaho visiting my wife’s family when I noticed her uncle had an old 1949 International L-series parked out back. Turns out that truck was purchased new by her uncle when he got married. The patina, the surface rust, and lighting in the morning inspired this composition.

The composition includes an adorable yellow vintage Fiat 500 just off a city square in Italy. A clock tower, floral dressed balconies adorn the background, and a cobble stone street accents the foreground of this scene. This piece was inspired by a visit to Montepulciano in Italy, part of the Tuscany region. Having that first espresso early in the morning left an impression I can’t forget.

It features an calm Caribbean-inspired island ocean scene featuring a tiny rock crab and the crystal blue and teal waves brushing gently against a bright sand beach with palm trees in the distance. A recent trip through the Bahamas inspired memories I have of Barbados, St. Martin, St. Thomas and other amazing Caribbean islands that evoke the beauty of the water against these amazing beaches.
